let it play. Time progressed and
before long nightfall was coming along. As my stereo fell
silent and my crystal ball came to life. An idol to me how could this be? At the age of 25,
caught in the middle of genocide. At the age of 25, I
assumed it was a homicide. The streets we shared
gave me sight. When you were robbed in
a violent way. I now see the irony of
Poetic Justice. So... when I heard the
news. So... I bowed my head
to pray for you. Your legacy will live

Thug Written By: Rick Davalos, © 1997 LISTENING TO THE LYRICS OF MY IDOL TUPAC SHAKUR I LEARNED WHEN I FALL TO STAND TALL AND COME BACK 4 MORE FORTUNE AND FAME DIDN'T COME QUICK TO HIM BUT HE KEPT TRYING AND WAITED KNOWING THAT IF IT DIDN'T COME HIS THUG LIFE STYLE AND COURAGE COULD NEVER BE FADED HE HAD MORE COURAGE, AMBITION, AND DESIRE THAN MOST HE THREW UP "WESTSIDE", LOVED HIS DEATH ROW, AND DESPISED THE EAST COAST IN '94 HE SHOWERED WITH BULLETS THAT NEARLY MARKED HIS DEATH HE THEN CLAIMED TO BE A "BADBOY" KILLA UNTIL HIS LAST BREATH DOWN WITH SUGE KNIGHT, SNOOP DOGG, AND THE POUND HIS LYRICS AND STLYE TOUCHED THOSE WHOM ARE DOWN LOOKING TO CLAIM THE LIVES OF BIGGY SMALLS AND MOBB DEEP KNOWING THOSE TWO HAD NIGHTMARES OF PAC AT NIGHT IN THEIR SLEEP HE TALKED ABOUT RISING FROM VIOLENCE BUT LOVING YOUR HOOD TO THOSE LESS FORTUNATE HIS WORDS WERE TOUCHING, BUT YET UNDERSTOOD SOCIETY LABELED HIM AS EVIL, VIOLENT, AND VILLIAN BUT HIS WORDS PRAISED ALL COLORS AND SHOWED LOVE FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN BIGGY SMALLS TRIED TO CLAIM 2 PAC'S LAST BREATH BUT IN MARCH OF '97 BIGGY MET HIS OWN TRAGIC DEATH THE SO CALLED DEATH OF TUPAC, ALSO KNOWN AS MAKAVELLI, LEFT THE RAP INDUSTRY AND THE WORLD AT HAULT, NOT KNOWING IF WHAT HAPPENED WAS HIS OWN OR SOCIETIES FAULT PAC DEAD OR ALIVE, IF YOU OUT THERE SOME WHERE YOUR LYRICS LIVE ON, YOUR STYLE IS MISSED, AND MANY STILL CARE |
